4 arrested in death near strip club in Monroe

Four people have been arrested in connection with a stabbing death early this morning in a parking lot outside a strip club in Monroe County.

The identity of the victim, a 27-year-old Maybee, Mich., man, is being withheld pending notification of his family, according to Detective Sgt. Heath Velliquette of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

The four suspects, all males 22-23 years of age, are from the Ida-Maybee-Monroe area. They were being held this afternoon in the Monroe County Jail awaiting charges.

The stabbing about 2:30 a.m. followed an assault in the parking lot of Alcatraz Gentlemen’s Club on South Telegraph Road in Erie. Velliquette said the incident was related to an earlier altercation at another establishment and had nothing to do with the club.

The victim was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, where he was pronounced dead.

The incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office Detective’s Bureau at 734-240-7530.
